Welcoming change like an old friend
Key takeaway: Change isn’t here to break you. It’s here to evolve you. When we resist it, we suffer. But when we welcome it, we transform.
A quick personal note: It’s been an exciting beginning, and I’m glad you’re here. With the website, podcast, blog, and newsletter now live, I’ll be sharing weekly reflections and updates as the journey unfolds. Big things are coming in the months and years ahead.
Change doesn’t wait for an invitation. It shows up with gifts we didn’t ask for and lessons we didn’t know we needed.
In the last podcast episode about change, I shared reflections on why we shouldn’t fear transitions. Even the messy, painful, or chaotic ones. You can find the episode on Apple, Spotify, or the Website.
Let’s take that conversation deeper.
What if change is less a disruption and more a sacred rite of passage? What if instead of bracing ourselves, we bowed in reverence?
In Ayurveda, life is defined by change.
It’s the breath in and out, the sunrise and sunset, the shifting seasons and dance of the doshas.
- Vata brings movement and inspiration, but also unpredictability.
- Pitta burns with transformation.
- Kapha holds on, but reminds us to let go.
Our unique makeup shapes how we respond to change. Some of us brace. Some of us embrace. And some collapse. Some sprint with excitement into the unknown. But across the board, resistance amplifies pain.
The real hurt often isn’t the change itself. It’s how tightly we hold on to the pain or resist change.
So what’s the alternative?
We honor and accept change. We greet it as sacred. We breathe into and through it. We allow ourselves the space to grieve, ritualize the ending, and stay curious about the new beginnings.
Here's the secret:
The universe, with all its stars, galaxies, chaos, and coherence, is here for you. Even when it doesn’t feel like it. And even when you're in the middle of a turblulent storm. Trust that a new chapter is already being written.
