A New Year, A Deeper Practice
Namaste,
Happy New Year 🎉
As we step into 2026, I want to share two episodes to help you reflect.
🎙️ A 2025 Reflection on Love, Loss and Daily Practice – I open up about this past year and how daily sadhana anchored me through difficult times and change. If you're moving through loss or seeking deeper clarity, I hope this reminds you that your spiritual practice can be your most loving companion.
🎙️ Making Gratitude a Daily Practice – Simple, practical ways to weave thankfulness into your everyday life as you begin the new year.
Both episodes are also available on Spotify, Apple, or Youtube.
This week's wellness practices:
1. Weekly Health Insight – Why exercise is longevity medicine
Building and maintaining muscle supports far more than appearance. Strong muscles help regulate blood sugar, protect joints, build bones, and reduce the risk of injury from falls as you age.
Even light resistance training adds years of strength, stability, and vitality to life.
2. The Quick Win – Go to bed 30 minutes earlier tonight
Cutting back just half an hour from your usual bedtime can make a meaningful difference in recovery. Extra sleep helps balance hormones, improve detoxification, restore energy, and sharpen focus.
Try it for a few nights and notice the subtle lift in mood and resilience.
3. The Science Behind It – How iron carries oxygen in the body
Iron is essential for hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that delivers oxygen to tissues. Without enough iron, fatigue and weakness can set in quickly.
Including foods like seeds, beans and lentils, dark leafy greens especially spinach, whole grains or non-sulphurized dried fruits like apricot, dates and figs, supports stamina and steady energy.
4. Wellness Wonder – Moringa powder for minerals
Moringa leaves are packed with iron, zinc, calcium, potassium, and magnesium as well as a wide variety of vitamins, anti-oxidants, fiber and protein in an easily absorbed form.
A spoonful of powder stirred into smoothies or soups offers dense nutrition with little effort. This simple boost strengthens bones and supports overall vitality.
5. Today’s Practice – Slowly rotate your neck in a circle
Move your head gently through a slow circle, pausing at tight spots and breathing slowly and deeply. This brief exercise eases tension from sitting, improves circulation, and refreshes alertness.
Just a few rounds can create more space and comfort in your shoulders and neck.
One more thing:
I also want to let you know that Real Mushrooms extended their discount through the end of January 2026! If you've been thinking about giving them a try, you can still get 25% off your first order at Nibodhi.com/mushrooms and use AWAKEN25 at checkout.
💡 Not sure what functional mushrooms are? I did a podcast on it. You can find the episode on Spotify, Apple, Youtube or my Website.
A recent comment for this podcast episode:
"Absolutely outstanding. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. I’ve been very interested in how mushroom support health - there is a lot of contradicting information out there. Having a voice I trust is so helpful!"
